Edit a user's date of birth in the dashboard

Workspace admins with User Manager access can edit a user's date of birth and other compliance details directly from the Dots Dashboard. This guide explains where to find this option, who can use it, and when DOB edits are restricted.

You need the User Manager role to edit user compliance details. If you don't have this role, contact your workspace admin. For more on role permissions, see Team Roles and Dashboard Access.

Who can edit user date of birth

The User Manager role is specifically designed for managing user records and data. Users with this role can:

  • View user compliance information

  • Edit date of birth and other compliance details

  • Update user records when corrections are needed

Users without the User Manager role cannot access the compliance edit functionality.

Edit a user's date of birth

  1. Log in to the Dots Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Users to view the user list.

  3. Click on the user whose date of birth you need to edit.

  4. Open the Compliance Info section for that user.

  5. Click Edit on the date of birth field.

  6. Update the date of birth to the correct value.

  7. Click Save to apply the change.

The updated date of birth is saved immediately to the user's compliance record.

When date of birth edits are blocked

You cannot edit a user's date of birth after it has been verified. Verification happens when:

  • The user completed identity verification

  • The date of birth was confirmed through compliance checks

If the edit option is unavailable or disabled, the user's date of birth has already been verified and cannot be changed through the dashboard.

Other editable compliance fields

In addition to date of birth, User Manager role holders can edit other compliance details before verification. The exact fields available depend on the user's verification status and compliance state.
