Complete your W-8BEN tax form
Complete the W-8BEN form when Dots asks you to provide tax information as a non-U.S. payee. You'll first see the Form W-8BEN page, where you choose whether to skip the step, fill the W-8BEN, or fill the W-8BEN-E, then you fill in the form fields and submit.
Choose what to do on the Form W-8BEN page
The Form W-8BEN page tells you whether the form is required or optional, and offers the actions available to you.
Optional collection shows: To continue, you may need to submit the IRS Form W-8BEN. If you are exempted from submitting this form, you can skip this step. Use Skip this step if you're exempt.
Forced collection shows: To continue, you must submit the IRS Form W-8BEN. There is no skip option.
Choose Fill form W-8BEN to complete the form, or Fill form W-8BEN-E if you're an entity that needs the W-8BEN-E instead.
Fill in the W-8BEN fields
Complete the form with your legal information. The fields are:

Citizenship country
Foreign tax ID
Date of Birth
Address Line 1 and Address Line 2

Country
Signature name
Email
Your citizenship country and country are set to match the collection and can't be changed on the form. The foreign tax ID is required unless your payer's collection is configured not to require it.
Certify and submit
Check the box labeled I certify that the information on this form is true and correct. and enter your signature name before submitting.
Click Submit. The form validates your entries — for example, it shows Name is required, Country is required, Foreign tax ID is required, You must certify the form before submitting, or Invalid email if a required field is missing or incorrect.
If you need to start over
You can't reset a submitted or skipped W-8BEN yourself. If you submitted the wrong form or skipped it, contact your payer (the company paying you) to resend or reset the form link.
